Kraft Space goes to Theo Paphitis SBS Winners Event 2020

On Friday 28th February 2020 Kraft Space set off up to Birmingham coming from Harlow, Essex and Brighton. We were delighted to have won an award from the infamous dragon Theo Paphitis and were really looking forward to having a few days away to stay in a hotel and get ready to attend the 10 Year SBS anniversary to collect our award from Theo himself.

Held in the awe inspiring building of the ICC, the organisers of the event did not disappoint. It was a fantastic atmosphere of excitement as many SBS winners had also been invited back from the last 10 years and was a phenomenal turn out. It was displayed with music, with colourful lights, a huge stage with massive screens, (and scrumptious biscuits and cakes to nibble on for breakfast!) We loved the opportunity to network with so many other budding entrepreneurs and swap business cards. It was nice that so many people recognised us and we started to become quite well known as ‘the Kraft Space girls’. We really enjoyed relaxing and having a giggle with our complimentary glasses of bubbles and of course…the Lunch!

We had the opportunity of getting professional photos done for our business, as well as lap up the wealth of helpful information from the speakers of the day including representatives from Google and Link’d In. As well as meeting Theo himself to present our award, the real highlight for us was making our way to the front – right next to the stage – in anticipation of Sara Davies coming on. She had made her success in the crafting world and we were really looking forward to seeing her. Her story told of her humble roots and through sheer work, determination and spirit she had made a business out of inventing a tool to make envelopes for card makers. Some of her stories were very inspiring as she gave advice on how to juggle the balance of being a working mum, and sticking to a ridged schedule in the world of business. As working mums in the crafting world, we all felt a warm connection with her. It made us smile that she had turned up humbly in a mini car to the ICC centre and it had taken the security a while to work out who she was for a while!

We left with our certificate and with our minds buzzing with inspiration and new ideas for moving Kraft Space on to the next level. We felt grateful for all the support that our friends and family have given us up to this point and enjoyed watching our social media sites explode with respect and congratulations over our win.
